Play More Shin Nihon Kikaku

So, with all the Samurai Spirits SEN and KOFXII hype going on, i was in the mood for SNK. Here are a few doodles in that mood. First is Yamazaki, hopefully he makes it in XII, then Geese, another cutesy rendition, next-up are the Twins, Jin Chonrei and Chonshu, i rarely see any fanart of them.. And lastly, its Kyo x Iori, i don't know, i just like the irony in the 'title'.

Made of Sex

Here, i drew Yuuri Morishita. At first i didn't like her, i mean, im not into the whole gravure idol with big 'assests' thing, but after a while, i began to 'see' why she's rated highly by many. She's made of pure sex.

Wet Pixels

Some unfinished stuff here, I think i have ADD when it comes to drawing, because, i go halfway, and then start on a new piece, most of the time, totally forgetting to finish previous stuff. but anyways, here's some stuff I did earlier. First off, the ninja, is  my fanart of Kage, as he appears in Legend of Kage 2, which recently just came out for the DS. I'll leave my gaming rants for that later on. Here, i tried to do a reverse step, by doing the outlining last, and simply painted over the sketch just to get a feel of what colors i would use. Im pretty surprised that I was able to make that flame katana look nice. The other drawing is some random girl with a scarf, the reason i stopped here, is that by looking at it, the thighs look somewhat odd, but i dunno, maybe it just needs to be colored properly. I like the new brushes i've been 'making' i finally got a good watery brush in CS3

Bike and Carrots

In the picture is Nagasawa Nao, an average gravure idol who i've been fond of lately. She's sexy and cute in an elegant, mature manner, except when you watch her IV's you'll see how much of a loldork she is. And oh, one of the few rare idols i've seen who look sexy with jewelry and formal make up on. I've been listening to a lot of random stuff, most recently, Stryfe hooked me up with Cam Butler, Holy Fuck, and Godspeed! You Black Emperor. Now im not really -into- most of these, but i appreciate them. I especially like Cam Butler, its one of the most cinematic tunes i've heard in a while. Well, thanks to Stryfe for the listening eductation. :) In similar news, Mukai is teaming up with Freidmann again, I can only hope for the holiest mess Zazen Boys can accomplish. They need it. Let the Heavymetallic aura come back to good 'ol batshit Mukai.
And so I'm off to try and aim for a good playthrough of Nanostray 2. My shmup skills have really rusted, I need to play more shmups again.

Dungeons and Twins Part 2

As I have mentioned, i've been playing Final Fantasy Ring of Fates, soley I might add. I've finally beaten story mode, and am now aiming to beat hard mode. As for the multiplayer mode, i've started to built up my character, I chose a Clavat (warrior) race, mainly because, I'm a real sucker for a good hack and a slash. Surprisingly, the multiplayer is fun, I tried to go beat some dungeons with a friend, and it was nice. Like most open-ended RPGs, dolling your character is my favorite aspect. In the picture is my main character, made it look like a cute shrine maiden. The weapon is also a Zantetsu btw, with looks like a Katana. Its almost like Sakura from Sakura Taisen. Oddly, after playing this for a while,  It felt like an MMORPG, without the MM and O aspect. Overall, best action-rpg by Square in years, This is what the MANA series should have been like.

Dungeons and Twins

So i've been playing a lot of Dungeon Crawlers lately, Notably. Mysterious Dungeon - Shiren the Wanderer, Etrian Odyssey , and just recently Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Ring of Fates. I especially like the item collecting aspect, i guess im greedy like that. Im not too fond of RPG's to be honest, i grew up on arcade style games, notably fighters and shmups, but of course, there are exceptions. I love Shiren because, its a rougelike set in japan, Nothing like a game with ronin's :D As for FFCCRoF, i guess, i was just itching for a good hack n' slash game. Though im not too fond of the multiplayer aspect, its a decent dungeon'er as well. As for EO, well, i did like Dragon Quest style RPGs, so, DQ+Dungeons = EO. Odd thing is, i started playing it 4 months ago, and im still early in the game, maybe i just suck in Wizardry style RPGs, or have been spoiled by JRPGs. Anyways, here's to the Nintendo DS, for having great old-school titles.

Also i've been listening to a lot of The Band Apart lately, good engrish tracks, with japanese rock/jazz sensibilities. Its perfect.

Rugal plays Bass

Based on a little quirky joke from the snk-capcom.com boards after someone pointed out the similarities between Eberhard Weber and Rugal Bernstein of KOF. Well, there's nothing much similar except that they are german, and have the same hair style. I was going for that Viewtiful Joe look, but im not much of a genius in shadows. And the bass itself looks terrible.

New

New blog, for the coming days ahead. "Pan to Hope" is from an ANATAKIKOU song

Im known in the web as ronin (or roninbuddha), and this blog will mostly be about random sketches/doodles, gravure idols and the like, as well as a bit of japanese music. none of the personal stuff, except if its related to those things.

to start, here's a drawing of mukai shutoku, of NUMBER GIRL and ZAZENBOYS. Its very pastel :D
